Nestled in the heart of Anacortes, Lucky Chopsticks offers an inviting introduction to classic Chinese cuisine that balances tradition with a warm, casual dining atmosphere. From the moment you step inside, you’ll notice the friendly service and a menu thoughtfully curated to satisfy both longtime Chinese food lovers and newcomers eager to explore bold, comforting flavors.
The kitchen here excels at crafting dishes that are layered with vibrant spices, fresh ingredients, and subtle nuances that tease the palate without overwhelming it. Standouts like the Hot and Sour Soup deliver a perfect harmony of tanginess and spice, preparing your taste buds for the main event. The General TSO's Chicken and Kung Pao Chicken showcase precisely that classic sweet-heat balance that keeps you coming back for more—crispy, tender pieces of chicken tossed in a glossy, flavorful sauce that sings with hints of garlic, ginger, and a touch of chili.
For those craving something hearty, the Mongolian Beef carries a rich, savory depth studded with tender beef slices and caramelized onion, while the Sweet & Sour Chicken Empress delights with its tangy glaze complemented by a crunchy exterior. Noodle lovers will appreciate options like the Singapore Rice Noodles and the generous variety of chow mein—from succulent shrimp to vegetable-packed plates—each stir-fried to perfection, delivering a wonderful chew and satisfying aroma.
Lucky Chopsticks isn’t just about the well-executed classics; dishes like the House Special Egg Foo Young and Honey Walnut Prawns remind diners of the thoughtful fusion of textures and flavors that elevate this spot beyond run-of-the-mill Chinese takeout. The plentiful portions ensure you’ll have enough to savor well beyond the first visit.
The ambiance is unpretentious and welcoming, appealing to families, couples, and solo diners alike who are looking for consistently delicious meals without any fuss. Guests like Megan Clune attest to the restaurant’s dependable quality, declaring it their "favorite Chinese food ever," while Trex Concentrates praises the "flavor and quality of ingredients" that make Lucky Chopsticks a standout in the area.
Though some seasoned palates note that the seasoning can sometimes be a bit on the salty side, this reflects a particular style embraced by the kitchen and beloved by many locals who appreciate that distinct “made to please” touch. Prices remain reasonable, adding to the approachable, down-to-earth appeal of the restaurant.
If you find yourself in Anacortes craving a comforting, satisfying meal that delivers big on flavor and generous portions—all served with a smile—Lucky Chopsticks deserves a top spot on your culinary itinerary.
Really good Chineese food. Had the #3 family dinner for 2 and was very impressed with the flavor and quality of ingredients. Will definitely come back best Chineese I have had in Anacortes.
Our favorite Chinese food ever! Everything is always amazing here. The problem is deciding what you're in the mood for. ;) The General Tso's is my personal favorite.
It's certainly not the best Chinese food, perhaps not even in Anacortes--I can't be sure--but I would be lying to say I don't have a soft spot for these types of places. Nothing is ever quite as it seems, which is part of the charm, and if you don't see that as a charm then why did you go to a place called Lucky Chopsticks anyways? Everything was a little over salted (perhaps adjusted for local taste who knows), but the staff were just wonderful and gave us a list of all the things to do around the area. 3.5 stars for the food plus an extra 0.5 for the staff.
Our first time dining here and we really enjoyed the food. Everything was hot, fresh and delicious. We had House Special Egg Foo Yung and Honey Walnut Prawns and there was enough left for lunch the next day!
I really like this place ! They are very friendly and that goes a long way in my opinion. The prices are lower then other places in town and I think the quality is just as good if not better. I'm not saying its perfect but they try ! I usually have the sweet and sour lunch special comes with your choice of hot and sour or egg flower soup . Pork fried rice and vegetable chow mein. Complimentary tea and they always bring water too. There was one time I brought my wife and the soup came out cold and the waitress was so apologetic I could tell she was really upset sometimes things just malfunction or forgot to turn on the warmer maybe but it was of no consequence because she was trying so hard to rectify the situation. The food so far has been good and I will keep coming back. I would recommend this place to any of my friends.
This has been our go-to for Chinese food. The staff are super friendly and you get lots of food for a cheap price when you order the family dinners. I recommend getting the walnut shrimp, and the crab wonton and egg rolls.
